Grandpa

Like a mountain you have stood the test of time
 Weathered the harshest of storms
And the shakiest of quakes
You have been present to witness milestones
Of life and death
But like even the greatest of mountains
You too have fallen down
And returned to the earth
 From whence you came
In your wake
 There are polished stones
And precious jewels
Memories we will carry
To remind us of the monument you were
Like a small pebble in our shoe
You too will always be there
Because not even death
Can steal the times we shared
We are a quarry of your love
More precious because you cared
